Graduate Research Assistantship Opening
I plan to recruit one or two PhD students to join HydroExLab starting in Fall 2025. The selected candidate(s) will be pursuing their degree in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University.

The Hydrological Extremes Lab at OSU conducts advanced research on flooding and drought, addressing major challenges in modeling and managing these natural hazards. Ph.D. students in the lab are expected to utilize various physical and statistical techniques, including hydrologic/hydrodynamic models, geospatial methods with GIS, machine learning, and data assimilation. We encourage applications from motivated and talented individuals with strong quantitative skills, an interest in working with big data using high-performance computing systems, creative problem-solving abilities, and experience in at least one programming language (preferably Python).

Qualified applicants interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering at Oklahoma State University should email me with the subject line “HydroExLab-Application 2025”. Please include the following attachments: a cover letter, current curriculum vitae (CV), contact information for three academic references, and an example publication (either a peer-reviewed journal paper or a master’s thesis) that demonstrates experience in hydrologic, hydrodynamic, or data-driven modeling.

The GRA position will be at OSU’s main campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma. OSU is a modern land-grant institution with interdisciplinary programs that attract students from all 50 states and approximately 120 nations. As Oklahoma's only university with a statewide presence, OSU improves lives through integrated, high-quality teaching, research, and outreach.
